Christine 12:30:45 PM
Hi Readie! I am envious of your retired status. Ireland has been incredible. A trip of a lifetimeso dar
Christine 12:31:05 PM
A trip of a lifetime so far.
Readie 12:31:17 PM
Thanks, Jerry, it was a tough decision, but I love the peace of mind and feeling of freedom!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:31:23 PM
There's an album cover of him on a horse. You will need one for the end of October!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:32:02 PM
@Mok
Mok On The Run 12:32:24 PM
My friend has a horse farm so I'm all set ,👍
Readie 12:32:28 PM
Christine, enjoy! Ireland is on my list...how is international travel these days?
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:33:05 PM
Readie, it's a bold move. Congratulations, time to enjoy!
Christine 12:34:05 PM
It has been very easy so far @Readie. I can only speak for myself, but hardly anything has gone wrong. Everything has gone right. ☘️
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:35:05 PM
Christine, you are charmed and have the luck of the Irish!
Readie 12:37:34 PM
Thanks, Jerry - you are so right!
Readie 12:38:38 PM
Thanks for that, Christine, I have heard so many stories ...do you mind if I ask you- are you doing a tour or DIY?
Christine 12:41:25 PM
I'm doing a two week small group tour with my cousin and her husband. It's been great Craic!
Readie 12:44:27 PM
Sounds awesome, Christine! I will have to get moving! You are an inspo!!
Readie 12:50:43 PM
I like this Nina, Jerry, haven't heard it before!
Mok On The Run 12:54:38 PM
ah man what film was it that opens with Randy Newman / Baltimore
Selecta Jerry 12:55:02 PM
The Tamlins with sly and Robbie Baltimore 🔥🔥🔥
Selecta Jerry 12:55:31 PM
Thanks for the shout Jerry g! Big up
Mok On The Run 12:56:36 PM
maybe it was Major League hmmm
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:57:25 PM
Thanks, SJ! You blew me away with that one. But you always blow me away with your "repertoire", pace, and joy for music!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:57:48 PM
I don't know, Mok, but I saw it too!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:59:11 PM
Readie, it was a bold move to have Nina sings to a reggae beat on that track, and whether she liked it or not (she thought the idea was silly) she knocked it out of the park.
Selecta Jerry 12:59:39 PM
It was listener Gboss who emailed me a whole detailed review and history of Baltimore. Wprb listeners are the best
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:00:27 PM
Definitely cool
Readie 1:00:36 PM
Agree, Jerry G! She was a consumate PRO!
Selecta Jerry 1:00:43 PM
Plus he cooks a mean barbecue!
Readie 1:02:34 PM
Selecta J! Good to seebyou!
gboss 1:02:38 PM
Was driving back from lunch when the track played. Thank you for playing it, Jerry. It's a favorite.
Readie 1:03:06 PM
*consummate*
gboss 1:03:08 PM
If I'm not mistaken, the Tamlins version was actually covering Nina and Creed's version of the song and came after that.
Selecta Jerry 1:03:20 PM
Hey Readie beautiful day
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:03:43 PM
gboss, what a compliment you got from Selecta J. The fact you had this knowledge is pretty amazing and tasteful
gboss 1:03:47 PM
I watched some videos of Sly and Robbie and the Tamlins and they all took credit for hearing the song and wanting to do a version of it.
gboss 1:04:06 PM
I know, I'm blushing.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:04:12 PM
Thank you for that info, Gboss
gboss 1:04:30 PM
My pleasure, Jerry!
Readie 1:04:44 PM
It's gorgeous! Windows open! Selecta, I bet you're on the decl enjoying it!
Readie 1:04:49 PM
*deck*
Readie 1:05:04 PM
I can't type today! Multi-tasking... lol
Selecta Jerry 1:06:19 PM
I Had Gboss come on the radio and discuss it. He was a true professional lol
Selecta Jerry 1:07:13 PM
He shot me pictures of his barbq ribs and I know right then I had to invite him to the dub bunker
Selecta Jerry 1:07:24 PM
🔥🔥🔥
gboss 1:07:29 PM
that's a strange way to say, "unprepared and nervous" selecta!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:07:47 PM
That was a good idea, SJ
Selecta Jerry 1:08:20 PM
Good times 😂🤣
gboss 1:09:13 PM
I like to have people listen to the RN->Nina->Tamlins versions of that song in order. It's revelatory.
Selecta Jerry 1:10:59 PM
And to drop the needle on the record after our discussion was a thrill
DSM 1:14:59 PM
Hey Jerry, lovely sounds for a truly lovely day
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:15:28 PM

Readie 1:29:44 PM
Yes, Brian, it was, only rained one day...the cool mountain breeze was excellent!!
Brian D 1:33:28 PM
Nothing like Jobim's Wave on a nice sunny breezy day!
Readie 1:33:34 PM
Hi Rob F!
DSM 1:33:34 PM
@Christine, The incredible part sounds fantastic haha. Enjoy the cocktails! Having a lunch beer myself along side a burrito.

Readie 1:37:26 PM
A wedding at a castle in Eire...how romantic is that?!?!
Christine 1:37:27 PM
@Selecta, you are in for a real treat. Have you been to Dromoland Castle before? A wedding there will be incredible! They have a world-class golf course taswell

Selecta Jerry 1:41:04 PM
Yes my heritage is back to county Clare
Christine 1:41:07 PM
@Readie, my cousin (who I am traveling with) share one set of grandparents. One came o the US from County Mayo & one from County Kerry. We are in County Kerry right now.
Readie 1:42:26 PM
So cool, Christine and Selecta! My people are from Mayo!
Brian D 1:43:40 PM

Brian D 1:44:35 PM
We have a castle ha! Or a Grove really
Selecta Jerry 1:45:50 PM
Man a bunch of Irish folk in Jerry G’s chat 😂
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:46:43 PM
It's great that people can share that and be proud!
Christine 1:46:50 PM
Nice, @Brian and @Readie! ☘️
Christine 1:47:50 PM
This place is so beautiful and feels so familiar, I won't want to leave.
Brian D 1:48:56 PM
I could hear this Brazil bent all day..
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:49:51 PM
That is nice, Christine! You have seen the beauty from which your people came. And I'm sure way better vibes in 2022
Brian D 1:52:46 PM
Guahchi guaro!
Selecta Jerry 1:52:48 PM
Never forget on my first trip to Ireland I was just off the plane and a valet man reached for my bag and saw my last name on the tag. He put the bag down turned to me and said “welcome home son” it melted my heart
Readie 1:53:38 PM
Cool, Brian! Irish folk all over the place up in here!
Brian D 1:54:35 PM
You mean Enrico Calamari's theme song ha! Who's this Will character ha...!Montuno, Mambo y Mas siempre!
Readie 1:54:42 PM
@ Selecta - I got a tear in my eye reading that! That is beautiful! I would never want to leave!
Mike Constantine 1:55:33 PM
Yeah....just who IS this Will Constantine
Brian D 1:55:57 PM
Y'all can visit our castle anytime . Admission is free
Rob Ebert 1:56:30 PM
Does W. Constantine have a program anymore? Haven't heard him in a while..
Selecta Jerry 1:56:32 PM
@readie 💚💚💚
Selecta Jerry 1:58:29 PM
Watch out for those two day holes Jerry!
Christine 1:59:17 PM
Great story, Selecta.
Brian D 2:02:03 PM
Ian Stewart (the 6th Rolling Stone) refused to play minor chords. He liked the straight ahead rock n roll stuff. So Nicky Hopkins often got the call when an intricate, colorful keyboard part was needed.
Readie 2:03:34 PM
Thanks for sharing that story, Selecta!
Brian D 2:04:05 PM
... chord pro-gresh-ee-an man.... Love Ray"s delivery and writing. Kinks are #1 out of the invasion for me
Brian D 2:06:44 PM
Ahh ... Love this Satanic Mag. LP
Mike Constantine 2:07:24 PM
Perhaps my fav Stones album
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:07:42 PM
Classic! Often unfavorably compared to Sgt. Pepper, or at least it was back in the day. Right on, Mike!
Mike Constantine 2:08:36 PM
Two different animals, Jerry
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:08:57 PM
Rob Ebert, Will intends to come back in the near future. He doesn't have the computer equipment to live broadcast, nor does he want it!
Mike Constantine 2:09:21 PM
Luddite!! :)
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:09:36 PM
....
Brian D 2:10:35 PM
Sorry luv... dropped me cello down the stairs i did.. apples and pears...
Brian D 2:11:36 PM
One of my all time fave Stones songs here. Powerful song
Mike Constantine 2:11:58 PM
Sure is
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:12:24 PM
Both albums came out around the same time, were early concept albums that were a new path for those artists. Then they got compared, I remember it so clearly
Mike Constantine 2:13:10 PM
Truth
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:13:37 PM
Speaking of truth, Mike...
Mike Constantine 2:13:46 PM
I think Satanic is a bit more psychedelic than Pepper
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:13:58 PM
Def
Mike Constantine 2:15:42 PM
Ha!...Truth indeed
Brian D 2:15:47 PM
Hmmm ... I think Jimi was the Jimi of the time ha... but that's just me
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:16:17 PM
Beck existed in a Jimi free environment for awhile
Brian D 2:16:26 PM
Such a great super group this Jeff lp
Brian D 2:17:42 PM
Jeff follows the Jeff muse... disappears for years, decade etc... tinkers w his cars... then resurfaces to shred us all
Brian D 2:18:33 PM
Have not heard anyone else that sounds like Jeff. 1 of a kind
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:19:13 PM
Heavy, indeed!
Mike Constantine 2:19:56 PM
Loved the Blow by Blow - Wired period
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:20:37 PM
Always with the impeccable taste, MC
Mike Constantine 2:21:04 PM
Gracias!
Brian D 2:25:06 PM
Ya the real show burner Revolution! Love that. And the fuzzed out sound
Brian D 2:25:35 PM
This one's great too for sure
Readie 2:25:53 PM
This Revolution slayed me then, and it still has that power! YEAH!! Lennon
Selecta Jerry 2:26:21 PM
In
Readie 2:26:22 PM
Love the slow one also, Bri...hard to choose a fave.
Readie 2:26:43 PM
Yeah, Selecta!!!!!
Mike Constantine 2:26:45 PM
The David Frost Show version!
Brian D 2:27:07 PM
Overdrive the recording console in the studio! Those crazy schoolboys really did take over! Stand aside Mr Martin ha
Readie 2:27:32 PM
This is good...sounds like they used the original track and did a live version over it...
Mok On The Run 2:27:50 PM
I don't hear any piano
Readie 2:27:54 PM
@Bri- yeah, you know it!
Mike Constantine 2:27:58 PM
Or Smother Brothers Show version if you like
Readie 2:28:06 PM
CRANK IT!
Brian D 2:28:13 PM
Yeah I am hearing all sorts of diff sounds brought to the forefront. Must be from the box set
Mike Constantine 2:28:18 PM
They did Readie
Selecta Jerry 2:28:22 PM
It’s back there mok
David Shortell 2:28:28 PM
These blokes' EMI labelmates, Tomorrow, recorded a song called "Revolution" the previous year.
Mike Constantine 2:28:42 PM
Live vocals
Brian D 2:28:48 PM
Nicky elec piano was down in the mix ya
Readie 2:28:54 PM
Thx, MC, Lennon did that in the past...with the Plastic Ono Band...
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:29:07 PM
Hi David, you are bringing it once again!
Mike Constantine 2:29:34 PM
yep
Readie 2:29:38 PM
Yeah, Mike, that's very cool!
Brian D 2:30:03 PM
The She's a a Rainbow earlier had some really bright details too. I'm sitting closer to the left speaker as well
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:30:28 PM
that was the remaster version from the anniversary album, I think
Brian D 2:30:42 PM
The oo la la's and all the string section craziness was really detailed
Selecta Jerry 2:30:48 PM
Is it that our old ears can’t deal with these modern remasters?
Brian D 2:31:34 PM
I love all those box set extras and redos. and the originals. Gotta get em all !
Selecta Jerry 2:31:38 PM
Sometimes they confuse my senses
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:31:39 PM
We hear something different from decades ago and we get a twitch
Readie 2:31:41 PM
Yes, Bri, and the insane Macca vox in there as well..
Mike Constantine 2:31:44 PM
One of these days I'll find a mono Santanic
Readie 2:32:04 PM
Be-ATTLE GEORGE!
David Shortell 2:33:18 PM
To quote Clang.
Mike Constantine 2:33:51 PM
Help!
Selecta Jerry 2:34:23 PM
Help me cope with this heavy load 🔥🔥
Brian D 2:34:41 PM
Some people online were confused on the Led Zep I reissue from 2014 or so when Good Times ... started w guitar in a "different" speaker. Turns out that Page actually made the left / right like it was originally in 1969. Many years of people hearing the 70s and 80s reissues made them think it was "changed".
Mok On The Run 2:35:44 PM
I think Ringo is in Easton tonight
Readie 2:36:07 PM
Yep- a shout to Brian on the Be-attle George thing! Lol!
Brian D 2:36:14 PM
Stones realeased a 50th anniv Satanic with both mono and stereo versions. 2017
Readie 2:36:44 PM
Man, this song brings back so many mem'ries...more poignant now than ever!!
Brian D 2:36:59 PM
Bee-attle George is my #1
Readie 2:37:19 PM
Who produced this Ringo track?
Readie 2:37:31 PM
oh, yeah, Bri!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:37:35 PM
A very sentimental and excellent song, good for people getting "older"
Readie 2:38:16 PM
Oh, man, you're so right, Jerry G!
Readie 2:38:32 PM
And I was so young when I first heard it!
Mike Constantine 2:39:09 PM
Produced by Richard Perry
David Shortell 2:39:35 PM
LIke the Kinks songs "Picture Book" and "People Take Pictures of Each Other", Jerry.
Daniel 2:40:16 PM
Crohn's disease is when you poop a lot, right?
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:40:52 PM

Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:41:57 PM
And does one poop alot?
Selecta Jerry 2:43:03 PM
This who track sounds strange to my ears as well remastered touch strikes again
Brian D 2:43:06 PM
My old band used to cover this medley. Fun to play live. Crowd shouting. Dynamics of the quieter See Me Feel Me section. Buildup at the end. good time
David Shortell 2:43:58 PM
I saw a stage production of "Tommy" recently. "Hey you smoking mother nature" and "You know where to put the cork" were among the lines that were changed. Too corny?
Brian D 2:44:02 PM
Jerry G, is your on air mic on? That sometimes made things tinny in past i think you mentioned
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:44:58 PM
Yes, it was for this track
Mok On The Run 2:45:17 PM
I had a friend in college with Crohn's..it's terrible
Brian D 2:46:34 PM
Aha! Crohns is not fun. Know several friends who suffer. Can't be simplified by a symptom of "doing something a lot ". Many factors. Limited actions and travels can be a problem
Mok On The Run 2:47:08 PM
My buddy had part of his intestines removed. Yeah no fun
Brian D 2:48:15 PM
Same. Surgeries ongoing for years. Infections. But some can keep it at bay and live ok lives. Different people diff stories
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:49:01 PM

The strip on the "Volunteers" back cover intrigued me. It was years before I found a book compiling Dan O'Neill's "Odd Bodkins".
