@Brian D - Srsly, you have to watch the SOLID STEEL BAR that will cut off your head if you don't duck down to 4' total height to get in those trams. They even have a sample tram so claustrophobics can try it out before buying a ticket!

@DSM - Basically. The story goes the dude who designed the Arch trams, Dick Bowser, was only given 3 weeks to do it cuz the powers that be didn't think he could do it. He didn't have a degree or anything. He was only given the chance cuz Eero Saarinen, architect of the arch, requested him, but Saarinen died during the building of the arch.

@Kristin B - Yeah, my husband heard about it 15+ years ago on a discussion board with some musicians in Chicago and always wanted to go, so we scheduled this trip near his birthday! It really DID live up to the hype! I had so much fun, it's worth flying to St. Louis for that alone

@Kristin B - Yes! Do it! The Cardinals play right next to the Arch. Buy some Fitz's rootbeer of Cardinal Cream and a gooey butter cake and see a game, ride the Arch tram and then spend an entire day in City Museum!

There was an extension I found you could put on your computer browser that would allow you to turn youtube videos into a big grid of tiny versions of the screen and then " pull them " in different directions creating trails etc.... fun toy. Wonder if that still exists.

Vermont Country Store catalog had a lot of those old 70s brands from tv ads. Candy, shampoo you name it. Some companies buy rights to the old names, branding etc and they are reborn. Pabst is another example of that (not avail at VT Country Store)

@Brian D - We also always hit up the Maple Syrup Museum and store and I always experienced buyer's remorse after getting those maple sugar candies in the shape of maple leaves because just one or two of those puppies caused sugar overload, and yet I always got them the next summer. They were sorta like a natural version of candy corn

@Brian D - I loathe fake maple syrup, and real maple syrup is good in small quantities, but damn, that candy is like maple sugar concentrate x1000 injected right into the veins. I always tossed it after eating two bite-sized pieces. It's like the pure cane sugar juice they sell in Hawaii and various other tropical places - it's TOO intense.That stuff made me light-headed and I felt like I could fly off the side of the cliff along the Road to Hana
