So how do you find stuff like Paul Schauert ?

In the case of Paul Schauert, a coworker with a surprisingly large music collection, discovered it somewhere and loaned it to me.

Schauert does not have a large web presence beyond bandcamp. Discogs doesn't even list him.

That's odd. I've always seen Discogs as the most definitive database for music releases and some artist info

That's usually the case, TAndy. I don't know of anything else that comes close. But some things escape their attention.

I assume since much of the site is user submitted, and sometimes fans just don't care to submit info.

I expect the artists would make the effort at least.

Yeah, it's to the point of ridiculousness. Not as big as many other WPRB DJs, but large, for sure.

Having a large music collection used to mean something. Years ago, I would have gems found internationally that weren't available here.

But now, most everything is available on the internet, and can fit in your pocket.

I still am accumulating things from PREX, too. I don't like how vulnerable digital storage can be.

My daughter and I would enjoy selecting CDs for road-trips. My son would just as prefer Spotify.

If it's not a WPRB show my friend/family would enjoy, I love trying to find an album off bandcamp or songs from a previous show I have saved on a playlist to play for car rides.

Well somehow this dubby ambient track has given me a second wind and I'm wide awake now

Yeah, McGill Manring Stevens, the jazz group. Same guy. Manring used to be on all the gentle new age records on Windham Hill. Then he went dark. And I was thrilled.
