I heard the whispering wprbprinceton wprbprinceton wprbprinceton during that pause speaking of embedded... djyall hear that too?

The in studio djs may have dialed that one up in the past year once or twice... i do not think i have heard kidney shaped tables/ mad pad man in a long while tho

It was a beloved station ID until the pandemic. I don’t think I’ve seen it in the folder of IDs salvaged from the studio

I think there was a Grady show last fall where we just kept requesting station id's. He played a bunch for us

Hi Brian D - I love “It’s a mad pad” ID, and I miss it too. I’m trying to remember what that one was called in the carts/IR machine…I think it was called something like Groovy or Swingin’, but that wasn’t quite it

Ahh, the kidney-shaped table. I wish I remembered what that ID was called

I also miss the ID that was called “Bizarre” and had a little girl and an adult man asking questions- “I like the one about the fat lady and the thin mitten…” that’s right, child, and carelessness can cause other problems too”

Dan R, the "pedaling up highway one..." love cult inductee station ID came up in chat discussions a bunch recently. Didn't you have back story on that? I know i heard the full audio once on wprb about 20 years ago . The pitch of voice was lower.

It's from a crazy Trunk records compilation called "Resurrection: The Amplified Bible of Heavenly Grooves" of Christian psychedelia

We were discussing it on the WPRB staff FB recently. I remember making that ID. It's me doing the non-recording vocals. I wish I had a copy of the sound file for it

Ooooo I thought of one the other day.... there's a child like voice maybe Stan or Kyle from South Park.. (or a sound a like) stating "Ok... you can come out now...." and maybe a dog/ wolf howl? Anyone remember that?

I was just on the actual island of Exuma in the Bahamas last March and I asked the locals about Tony MacKay, AKA Exuma the Obeah Man. They said he was born on Cat Island but lived on Exuma

This one Bahamian cab driver gave me the lowdown on so much good Bahamian music, old and new

Did a whole 3-hr show of Bahamian music, rake & scrape, etc from Exuma after that trip

@Dan R - Re: Tower of Babble ID- yeah, I think so. The makers of Barking Dog ID called me once many years ago during my show, just after I played it, to say very proudly that they made that one! I They’re alum and I think might be married now? They said they made it in the early or mid 90s

I bought a great comp on Bandcamp from Numero Group. "Cult Cargo: Grand Bahama Goombay". Had some stuff I heard on your show Lizbot. The cautionary tale "Don't Touch That Thing" etc

Also I do believe that Zeal & Ardor does a proto-Blues and Black Metal fusion. Though his music has direct hymnals and spirituals from the Antebellum South, that directly influenced the formation of Blues anyway.

Yeah, the writeup I saw compared Crestfallen Dusk to Zeal and Ardor. It's a fascinating direction. I feel like Horseback occasionally mines that territory, too
