Under the heat of the burning summer sun,
Languish man and flock; the pine is parched.
The cuckoo finds its voice, and suddenly,
The turtledove and goldfinch sing.

- Four Seasons (Summer), Antonio Vivaldi

Could not find a photo of Arpita Mazumdar.
PADMA GANESH 9:50:18 AM
Good morning!
PADMA GANESH 9:50:57 AM
Just enjoyed the “Chembai experience”
Sangeet Team (host) 9:55:49 AM
@Padma: GM Padma. Thanks for dropping in. Yes, great musician. When I was a kid, I remember attending one of his concerts in a local temple. True to form, he was encouraging the 12 or so year old mridangist to play: "Vaashi" --Play

Try spelling her name "Arpita Majumder" instead. There is one photo at JioSaavn.com
Sangeet Team (host) 9:56:43 AM
Hi David. Missed by a vowel?
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ 9:57:12 AM
And a J instead of Z.
Sangeet Team (host) 10:00:15 AM
Thanks, DTO
Sangeet Team (host) 10:05:17 AM
proper name spellings must be standardized. Or we need a software to sift through various possibilities
Sangeet Team (host) 10:11:27 AM
I am not surprised that Manish Vyas lives in Switzerland. I have happy memories of my three years stay in Geneva, Switzerland
PADMA GANESH 10:25:16 AM
Amrutha Venkatesh - SHE is the one to watch.
PADMA GANESH 10:28:46 AM
Clearly the Balamurali style is inherited through HRH Rama Varma!
Sangeet Team (host) 10:28:47 AM
@Padma, Yes. She has already made her mark on the music scene. A few years back [PC Pre-covid] she gave a concert at the Chinmaya Mission in Cranbury. Did you attend?
PADMA GANESH 10:29:17 AM
@Ram sadly no.
Sangeet Team (host) 10:32:10 AM
@Padma, Prince Rama Varma also was in NJ. Sangeet interviewed him and broadcast the interview. Such a renaissance man, but so modest. It was such a pleasure to talk to him. Also an educational experience. The interview is on Youtube
PADMA GANESH 10:35:41 AM
@Ram Yes, I watched it
Sangeet Team (host) 10:37:03 AM
A prince wearing a dhoti and giving an interview. So unassuming
Sangeet Team (host) 10:54:14 AM
My apologies. I about the wrong Fayaz Khan.
Sangeet Team (host) 10:55:19 AM
There are two of them. One is no more, about whom I spoke. It is wrong.
Sangeet Team (host) 10:59:33 AM
Papanasam Sivan's signature in his songs is: Ramadas
PADMA GANESH 11:36:32 AM
@Ram I do not know if Sangeet’s signature these days is Summer by Vivaldi. :-) But I would say we are far beyond the point of “parched pine”. :-) More like “burning pine” today :-)
PADMA GANESH 11:37:32 AM
@ Ram But the music selection is helping
Sangeet Team (host) 11:46:35 AM
@Padma: Yesterday I found out that the instrumental piece "Four Seasons" by Vivaldi is based on four poems he wrote for the four seasons. I looked at the one he wrote on Summer. It is a long one. I just opted for the first few lines. Love Four Seasons. Thanks for your kind words on today's selections
Sangeet Team (host) 11:56:26 AM
@Padma: The signature changes from host to host LOL
Sangeet Team (host) 11:56:40 AM
Thank you Padma and DTO for dropping in today. Also, thank you all out there in Wi-Fi space who tuned in to Sangeet today. Have a nice week and please stay cool.
