@ Marvin Rosen (host) You rightfully asked, Why do we so seldom hear the choral music of Jan Dismas? Perhaps for the same reason the choral music of Bach himself was long neglected: Critics dismissed it and thus it languished. It took William Sheide, the philanthropist, music scholar and enthusiast, and long time Princeton resident, to champion it with his vocal ensembles. We need a Scheide for Dismas!

This is definitely true. It is also worth looking even further back and remember Mendelssohn who did so much for Bach when he brought out his St. Matthew Passion!!
