@Alan - yeah, my father-in-law couldn't move for a week and laid up with back pain for months from loading the dishwasher! I'm sure it was other stuff too, but that's when he suddenly threw it out! Ugh! Now I'm so worried it will happen again.

@Rob - yeah, and my lower back is still weak and painful in that spot, just nothing like the first 3 days, which were awful

and now for our very own Abbie from Mars!

Lizbot: Mine went out superbad about a month ago, sometimes a chiropracter helps, sometimes it fixes itself, for now the mattress stays on the floor!! But I know what it's like having trouble walking Ugh!!

the funny thing is, I KNEW I wanted to play Delius (Song of Summer) by KB last week before my back went out, and when Commie stepped up to cover for me, she played it without knowing I planned to. Synergy!

My folks used to do a Maine road trip every summer when I was a teen because my uncle lived in a former radio station in Belfast and led the community theatre there, so we always had a place to stay there back then. Loved the co-op and the co-op cats and hanging down by the water listening to music

@Ossy - Yeah, it basically felt like living in an abandoned station because nothing much was done to covert it into an apartment! It was fun and near the great local co-op. I still remember fondly sleeping on a mattress in the soundproofed studio room, blasting my stereo

Ahhh, I feel for ya Lizbot, i’ve had on and off lower back problems, the most recent spell was last month. Like you said I’m always worried what will set it off, and never really know. Tho i do attribute it to many years of construction work coming back to haunt me. 👻

Up until this point I felt fairly lucky WRT back pain. As far as skeletal stuff, I have a lousy knee injury, but I have been fairly back-pain-free except for that one time I threw my back out visiting a friend in Madison, WI and I sat on her cursed futon and immediately killed my back, but that was 15 years ago!

I threw my back out, I guess in the winter? And it was awful. One day was so bad I went to the doctor afraid it was a kidney stone. I’ve since recovered, and started doing light yoga for physical therapy in the morning, which seems to help.

I’ve found cat/camel stretch to help. And heating pad.

@Mary - That sucks! Yeah, my father in law has some cord exercises he swears by for his back pain.

I throw everything at it...stretch strap, yoga, massage, raw onion poultices, hypnosis by cat, etc.
