I think I have one more episode. I thought Angus Boon did a good job as Lydon. The actor from Queen's Gambit is ok who plays Malcolm. I liked Maisie Williams. Now of course I only admired the scene from across the pond, so as far as accuracy...

I thought it would have been a much better show if it put the Sex Pistols in the background and had the characters reacting to what they did instead of showing everything. The historical footage was terrific though!

I went back and watched one TV appearance the Sex Pistols made and it was impressive how they re-created it shot-by-shot and gesture-by-gesture. So clearly the attention to detail was there but overall I struggled to reach the finish line.

Yeah about 1981 or so it was all full albums in the collection. Records first then the cassettes won out with their portability. And blank cassettes with their ability to capture all my relatives and friends ' older siblings collections!

Yeah Buena Vista Social Club is Ry Cooder dream project of getting Cuban all star musicians together. Most not known in the USA

Gosh, I just know Miami Sound Machine. Works for me in my limited way though.

And for the electric guitar side of Cuban things check out Ry's album with Manuel Galban. Like Surf meets Cuban and Blues etc. Great take of Prez Prado's Patricia on that. Sublime elec gtr tones

I Never really knew anything about Cuban musicians until Ry put those lps out. And then some other lps of those musicians came out after Buena Vista. Put them on the map at he end of their lives they got some recognition

Also led me to "A Todo Cuba le Gusta" by Afro-Cuban All Stars. Juan de Marcos González is leader of that and he was involved in BVSC etc. That lp has it all. Ry Cooder is on 1 song. Think it came out same year as BVSC

I once saw “Watermelon Man” on ABC’s “The 4:30 Movie”, popular afterschool viewing for us kids back in the day. I wonder how much of the movie they censored.

Regret not seeing Neil Innes when he played in Bordentown last decade. Maybe more than once....

I think Jimmy Cliff’s version of the Johnny Nash song came out in 1993, not 1969. TCM showed the 1959 Nash star vehicle “Take a Giant Step” not long ago.

I heard that after “The Dark Crystal” bombed, Henson was pressured to make his next film with people appearing in it. Hence, “Labyrinth”. Jennifer Connelly was actually 14 when she acted in it.

I’m not saying Labrynth is high art, but it’s David Bowie, Muppets, Terry Jones, and Brian Froud’s Faeries book all in one place, and I love it, it had a huge impact on me as a little kid.
