-ᎷяMΔᏞᏨØИᎢΞNᎢ-💀 12:15:57 PM
ORVILLE PECK ❤️
Colin 12:16:32 PM
It's never a good story. got out of bed one morning to take a wee and thought i was gonna step on a cat. rolled my ankle doing the awkward don't step on the cat maneuver. I will never forget the sound of the bones cracking as I went down. Two plates and 14 screws later, that ankle is the one part of my middle aged body that don't hurt.
Colin 12:17:02 PM
...and it wasn't a cat but only my t-shirt on the floor.
Esoterica (host) 12:17:18 PM
yes what a voice, right, mr. m (orville)

@ Esoterica (host) Orville Peck has a remarkable voice. I'm surprised he isn't a bigger star than he is. Has anyone managed to solve the mystery of his identity, just who is beneath those flamboyant fringed masks?
Colin 12:21:26 PM
orville peck is a good example of a singer letting his natural talking voice shine vs trying to sound like a singer should sound. not to mention the excellent production on that track.

I'm tuning in late. I take it that Urinals track was not the Rolling Stones song.
Esoterica (host) 2:10:57 PM
aw yes, bri
Esoterica (host) 2:11:10 PM
hi david, true, not the RS
David Shortell 2:16:05 PM
I just went to see “Brian and Charles”. It’s unusual for a Welsh-set independent film to play in multiplexes, so I seized my final chance to see it theatrically today. It was pretty lame though.
Esoterica (host) 2:17:19 PM
oh cool, david, i haven't heard of it. is it good?
Lee Chandler 2:19:05 PM
Always love hearing AMC!
Esoterica (host) 2:19:50 PM
me, too! You don't get too much Eitzel on the airwaves

The first version of “Tobacco Road” I heard was Jefferson Airplane’s and it remains my favorite. It appears on bootleg cassettes I have of their early concerts.

There’s also a completely different song called “Tobacco Road” by NJ’s The Graveyard School, whom I saw Saturday at the Saint.

That’s actually a pretty crappy YouTube video I posted. I made much better video-recordings of their song on my phone, which I posted on my FB page.
David Shortell 2:54:26 PM
I first heard “My Friend Jack” as performed by NJ’s The Insomniacs. You could probably make an anthology of freakbeat songs they’ve played live. Call it “Songs the Insomniacs Taught Us”.

That was more upbeat than I expected from Son House, who criticized the Butterfield Blues Band for being too jubilant and upbeat for true blues.
