i used to have a 66 dodge coronet 4 door. real sleeper gramma car!

Years ago I knew a guy that worked for a Plymouth/Chrysler dealership in Trenton, had three Superbirds on the lot circa 1971, so they were two year old (new) cars at that point, nobody wanted to buy them, ended up cutting of the wings and slashed the price just to get rid of them!😳

At one point we had (my Dad's buys, of course), a 1960 cherry red Chrysler 300-F (when the 300s were still limited production cars, 375 horse power motor, STOCK) and a 1963 black Plymouth Sport Fury with the optional Hurst racing stick shift manual transmission. And -- yes, I know -- their fuel efficiency was horrible and the amounts these and similar vehicles added to pollution too shameful to contemplate ... :-((

I regret lettin go the Chrysler 300 I had, most comfy ride ever and was a flying machine.

@ Ambrose Hughes Some years ago I was on a bicycle club ride in Bucks County, PA. We were pedaling along some open fields when a line of classic 1950s thru 1970s cars passed us, heading to a major auto show. These were 100% restored and tuned up classic cars -- and we out in the open-air countryside -- yet we STILL almost choked on the exhaust fumes! YIKES!! It made me totally appreciate why the U.S. Department of Transportation was forced to mandate pollution control devices on all new cars.

@ ambrose - we had a surburban town ouside phily called hatboro and the kids would drive the ars down the center of town slow back imn early sevintes and the cops would harass them for chiense fire drills etc- not the town has a moonlight memoreis whre old dudes drive thier calsswic cars down through the town funny how things changes

@ Tim (host) Re: the Freddie Cannon station i.d., I had some friends who were WPRB d.j.s back in the day, and I recall that whenever they did an on-air telephone interview with some music star they'd _always_ ask the celeb to please record a 'PRB promo sound byte.
