Good beautiful morning! Good music, new car review videos, and a nice cup of coffee making this Monday morning better than anyone else's 💙

I don't see many people calling themselves "Fats" these days.

The New Jersey band known as the Anderson Council derive their name from the surnames of the two bluesmen that inspired Pink Floyd’s name.

I assume the place Scrapper Blackwell sang about is the hometown of Kokomo Arnold. Speaking of whom, you could probably do an entire program of versions of “Milk Cow Blues”. It’s interesting that what has become recognized as that song’s definitive version is sang by an 18-year-old English kid (Dave Davies).

Kokomo Arnold may have named himself that because he did a version of Blackwell's tune. The Milk Cow blues would be quite a thing to chart out. So many versions, including unrelated blues songs using similar lyrical motifs.

I think the Beatles did it in the "Get Back" movie

Good morning! The earlier version of Pink Floyd, led by Syd Barrett, was more blues-oriented. Syd was really influenced by American music as were many British musicians of his generation.

Also there was the billiards player, Rudolf Walter Wanderone, popularly known as Minnesota Fats or New York Fats.

I never see most PF fans thinking fondly of the Syd Barrett era but I thought it was really neat. I'm definitely still a big fan of the period between his departure and The Wall, though. Atom Heart Mother was perfection.

Relics was pretty good, even though my favorite song was Paintbox and had more to do with Rick Wright than anyone else. Lovely song 💙

My dear ol Dad is also a Pink Floyd fan, but he's more of a fan of The Wall, DSoTM, and Animals. Not much of a Syd fan himself, but I can understand why.

I remember that Johnny "Guitar" Watson played at Tramps in the 90’s and I chose not to go for some reason. He died not long after.

My dad probably should have been a Pink Floyd fan--he grew up around that time (Vietnam vet) but his friends teased him about listening to the music of the generation before
