@ Ameena: Just read about the life of Julee on Wikipedia. So sad to hear that she had to take her own life because of pain with an uncurable disease.....So, so sad...she will be very much Missed :(

Interestingly enough Sofia, veteran singer Patrice Rushen is a music teacher at USC

Thankfully UC has produced many a wonderful artist.

it's interesting how many singers, musicians, actors, etc. end up teaching

With Patrice as a music teacher, nothing will go wrong. Plus spoke to her a few times on her page, she's sweet!

Then we have legendary Phylicia Rashad of Cosby Show fame as the Dean of Arts at Howard University!

So, so many of my old friends are teaching music! lol

Wow, the beauty of enrolling in schools or similar and then, you find out someone working there is famous!

At one Black History Month weekend event, I met a singing girl from Philly named Suzann Christine and didn't know she was quite famous, til after the event, due to never hearing about her at all.

@Ossy - My girlfriend when I was young went to Julliard. Everyone was famous. I like to think I heard Yoyo Ma in the practice rooms. :)
