@ Brian D And while we're celebrating the great Dalton Trumbo, let's thank director Otto Preminger who hired and openly credited Trumbo for the screenplay to "Exodus" and producer/star Kirk Douglas who did the same for Dalton with "Spartacus," thus helping finally end the blacklisting of former (or merely suspected) American Communist Party members in Hollywood.

Liquid Sky was one of those “trailer before every art film at Ritz 5” movies for me.

It’s been nearly four decades since I saw “Liquid Sky”. I’ve never known the cast or crew to do anything else, but I read that the star played the drag queen in “Crocodile Dundee”!

One day I need to read the book "Scapegoats of the Empire" that was the basis of Breaker Morant

I rely on my library app “kanopy” for free viewing of old foreign movies. “I Knew Her Well “ isn’t available on it, but it does have 2 other Antonio Pietrangeli films: “The Visitor” and “Adua and Her Friends”.

@ Readie Have you seen the restored version of "Freaks" with the happy ending? The male "little person" has inherited the family fortune (denied to the scheming and later mutilated Cleopatra the trapeze artist) and is living in a mansion. His sympathetic "big person" allies stop by to visit, bringing with them the little person woman who has always truly loved him. The kindly big persons go happily, leaving the two former sideshow performers together to live happily ever after.
