There's an in-person event: Laurie Anderson will be playing music with a slew of Lou Reed's guitars wired into a synthesizer. It's part of marking what would have been his 80th birthday.

Jerry , So sad about Sid Mark. I used to listen to Friday's with Frank religiously on the way to whatever wedding I was playing and it I learned so many jazz standards that I needed to know. He was a delightful man .. so sad to hear this news.
Christine 1:50:45 PM

Christine 1:51:05 PM

David Shortell 2:05:17 PM
I'd like to hear an hour of nothing but Spencer Davis Group.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:06:45 PM
Thank you, Alfred, for that! Thanks for your visiting the Cuckoo Facebook page too, it is appreciated.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:07:12 PM
Hi David, that would be pretty damn great!
Alfred Ruel 2:08:56 PM
I have been working on collecting their entire Shandar discography for a long time! First started modestly collecting the CD reissues, and I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that some of the titles were unfortunately never issued on cd frustratingly (including the Sunny Murray if you can believe that!?)... but then one fine day I stumbled upon an original 3LP set of Cecil Taylor's maeght sessions and thought to myself well, this does it, if I buy it now I have to start collecting original LPs!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:10:06 PM
It got more expensive over time, that's for sure. Nonetheless, I love and respect what ou are doing, what an endeavour!
Patrick White 2:10:07 PM
Hey Jerry I am lost here in Center City what is this area called Goslow.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:10:53 PM
Isn't that in Scotland, Patrick?
David Shortell 2:12:16 PM
Both Spencer Davis Group and Traffic figure prominently in the soundtrack of “Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush”, based on the novel by 1968 Beatles biographer Hunter Davies. Watch it on Amazon Prime!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:12:56 PM
I will, I never saw it and didn't know it was available. Thank you!
Alfred Ruel 2:13:29 PM
Collecting Shandar got easier with the internet, but definitely not less expensive! I found that first one at the Princeton Record Exchange for a fair price, and now have originals of almost every release, except the final release by Richard Horowitz, which I am not fully convinced exists/ever saw light of day... I love the combination of free jazz and minimalist stuff on the label. the Charlemagne Palestine took me forever to find. now if only the Murray would be released on cd!
Mok Rebennack 2:16:12 PM
