Like the Nashville "1000 rhythm gtr " tracks. Nick Lowe, Geoff Lynne and many others used that technique i think. Stacked tracks of many many acoustic gtrs strumming same pattern. Great sound

@ Brian D Humble but happy thanks, Brian! Much appreciated! As it turns out the current (June '22) Bluegrass Unlimited magazine is a special California bluegrass issue. And I wrote the cover story on Chris Hillman, formerly of the Byrds and the Flying Burrito Brothers, et al, but who started as -- and remains -- a serious (and very skilled) bluegrasser (mandolin picker, songwriter, vocalist).

There's no right or wrong. Just the most common for him and his fam yes is "min-ROE"

moby dick is...interesting. I loved it better when i was younger, now im going to explore it again. Feel free to skip the really long winded didactic sections that are over-wordy descriptions of sea life or whaling---skip to the fun and weird stuff. Its a very strange book. Melvile was supposedly straight white guy but you will quickly question it, makes for fun reading

Did you ever hear the recordings from the Golden State Bluegrass Festival Richard? I think that is where the famous Jerry Garcia, John McEuen & Steve Martin all w banjos picture was taken. I think "Soft Parade" was the song I saw the Doors play (or mime to) on a repeat of the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour televised not long ago.

Orca is hilarious. Synopsis: Richard Harris offends a killer whale. Said whale seeks revenge. Harris lives in shack over water on pier near Orca's home. Complications ensue.

Berger wrote "Neighbors" as in Aykroyd Belushi film. Great book. And another book "Meeting Evil" that was apparently made into a film last decade w Sam Jackson and Luke Wilson. Another hard to put down book! One of those "all in one really bad luck filled days" stories.

Berger has dialog in some of his books that remind me of the manner that Ignatious Riley speaks (the main character in John Kennedy Toole's book Confederacy of Dunces). That over - the -top way of speaking. Inflated diction, full of oneself etc. The character Earl in Neighbors especially (Belushi's role)

I never saw the movie "Neighbors". The book "Wired" says Belushi pissed off his musical composer friend into quitting. That's why the score wound up so atrocious.

Was C.O.D. ever made into a movie? Toole's other book "The Neon Bible" was, but I fell asleep in the Quad Cinema watching it. I tried watching it on my TV later and fell asleep again.

But go for Neighbors, Little Big Man, Sneaky People, The Feud, The Houseguest, Meeting Evil, Who Is Teddy Villanova? Those are all great. I am still in the middle of his take on King Arthur "Arthur Rex"

They were mostly my cousin's and uncle's. Dated from 60s. I had a few that were issued later but those early books really shined
