It's so cool that it's light out when your show starts, and that I have more time now to prep my show so I can listen in!!! Woohoo

I'm glad my daughter has really embraced The Ramones this past year. She's 13 and suddenly consuming so much music 24/7

When did you get into music consumption?

YES, TYVM! As for music, when my mom was preggnant with me, they went to a Judy Garland concert and I heard it all in utero. Judy was sitting on the lip of the stage, mom told me.

@Readie - Totally NOT TMI! We played Hattie loads of albums in utero and of course went to many shows while I was pregnant with her! We played her Cyndi Lauper's All Through the Night a lot!

@Dennis - SO good. Infinitely better than Isle of Dogs as far as stop-motion Wes Anderson goes, but I still like IofD too cuz I will watch most anything he makes

@Dennis - By the way, I put off listening to you & Mary's Fitzcarraldo episode because I somehow never saw it, despite being a Herzog fan and seeing a lot of his other films. It's one I'd been saving for a special night for years and your pod finally inspired me to watch it so I could listen to the episode, and oh man, it was epic and great.

@Dennis - I started watching Burden of Dreams, the doc about the making of it, afterwards but it was far too late at night at that point and I fell asleep a half hour in, but I have heard the stories about the crazy experience making it and the feud between Herzog and Kinski for years

Another common dollar bin find were all the Dwight Twilley albums, who I think is so under appreciated

Earlier in the pandemic, I made a buncha IDs and enlisted the voices of my family members!

@Liz we loved it, we still have to watch Burden of Dreams. We’re currently trying to watch Stroszek via the Netflix disc thing, but twice now the disc was broken (maybe they just have one copy and sent it back to us just to annoy us).

@Dennis - I want to watch Aguirre again soon. I rented it from the Phila Pubic Library main branch in like '99 or so, and I don't remember that much of it.

@Dennis - I still have mail-order Netflix as well, for the same reason - that you can't find certain films anywhere else - but I swear they don't replace those discs often...or ever

@Readie - haha, I did that with my old tropicana orange radio my mom got by sending in orange juice box-tops! I put it in my bike basket. It's antenna was a red & white stripey straw!

@Dennis - ooooh, no! I watched the Unbelievable Truth in high school and had a little Hal Hartley phase back then, but I haven't seen that film since - I gotta revisit it and check out the score!

@DSM - My mom was the queen of box-tops when I was a kid! We had towels from various companies, all kinds of other little household goodies, but that radio was the sweetest - an orange with a built-in dials and that straw antenna!

@DSM - I bought a limited edition print of the Shleep album art by Robert's wife Alfreda Benge, but I have yet to frame and hang it - LOVE that cover

Read the Tommy James book last year. Good stories. The making of Draggin The Line was cool to read . He used a tape loop for the main track. Kept that solid rhythm. And def some mob stories . So many songs! First heard him as a kid in late 1970s early 1980s. He had a comeback hit 3 Times in Love all over radio for a short bit.

I have a very strong exhilarating memory of being in a car driven by TEENS for the first time, with NO parents on board, with the older daughters of family friends and they BLASTED So when it was new and, actually, we were driving around Princeton because they lived in Lawrenceville

Friends used to work for a movie theater chain in the 80s. PA locations and the Lawrenceville Jerz locations. They used to THROW DOWN the underage drinking ragers! I remember you could sneak up on the roof of the Lawr. location. Saw so so so many free movies. Bring yer own cup for unlimited refills of 'corn n sodee. We had to sneak in 5-10 mins after start time. Stay n seat n wait for begin 5 mins next showing...

@Dennis - I love him and he's ridiculously prolific. I have a release of his that is many hours long! His early stuff is more like Acceleration, but then he started making this pretty, spacey synth songs that are a bit uncategorizable and beautiful. I love both incarnations of his work
