I managed to avoid burning in Exuma last month because, when I’m somewhere tropical, I’m extra vigilant. But I got a bad burn last August in Vermont because I wasn’t paying attention. Sorry you’re burned!

For ant 🐜 deterrent especially in kitchen I use ground pepper and bay leaves!

@Krista- oh yes, I have the SPF-treated sun shirt for the beach, a big brim waterproof sun hat, the whole nine. My kid is starting to resist those protections now that she’s a teen and feels it doesn’t look cool, so she got herself a burn in Exuma at the beginning of the trip and then suddenly was motivated to wear her hat and sunblock the rest of the trip!

She's lucky she's had such diligent parents. I had many blistering burns as a kid. My family is mostly olive skinned or darker and I'm very pale.
