I try to avoid Zappa with lyrics.

I always enjoy the 'screaming online' part.

Freak Out! Is my favorite Zappa. Monster guitarist, composer, at times.

I try to listen to all Zappa that i can ha . Love his humor. Wish he was still around to enjoy the tech of today. And give some commentary

That’s a good tip! Live Bongo Fury is terrific, beginning to end. First time ever hearing “stunt” in front of guitarist. Please don’t tell me Hendrix was one.

Doc on Zappa drove home what a cheap skate he was to band members. Jerked them around other ways. A cliche “genius” or not. I much prefer Beefheart overall, great painter too. Zappa did produce the masterpiece, Trout Mask Replica. Great collaboration.

I heard Beefheaert wasn't very nice to his bandmates either.

So, host with the most? Zappa with lyrics is a majority or nearly, of his output. That say’s a lot right there. Zappa repetition of musical passages, trademark yes, but predictable too.

I saw Albert ‘Icepicker” Collins open for SRV at Aragon, Chicago. SRV was hiding behind monitor watching AC, like a little kid worshipping his hero. What a moment there. Jimmy Vaughn is no slouch either, like the Winter brothers. Must be in the water there.

With Crumb, same director, perfect double feature. Art School Confidential isn’t quite up to those two.
