Readie Righteous (host) 5:03:58 PM

Nahan Way 5:04:08 PM
Good to know, thank you
dan Cochrane 5:04:24 PM
The gang’s all here!
Readie Righteous (host) 5:04:28 PM
YEPPER! Welcome, Oh Righteous ones!!!
Readie Righteous (host) 5:04:35 PM
Hi Dan!
dan Cochrane 5:05:18 PM
I picked up a clean copy of Evil Dead remake. Tonight’s feature.
Readie Righteous (host) 5:05:31 PM
Welcome, Brian D! Yes, a zenned-out Steve... what a beauteous specimen..
Readie Righteous (host) 5:06:41 PM
I really do know how to spell that word, I'm just summoning Jimbeaux, who doesn't usually join us until later!
Readie Righteous (host) 5:07:32 PM
I think men should all wear their hair long and flowing, but that's just me.....
dan Cochrane 5:08:30 PM
Provided they still have some, but that’s just not me...
Readie Righteous (host) 5:09:07 PM
lol...there are always wigs to be acquired...
Nahan Way 5:09:12 PM
haha I've got the same obstacle as Dan
Nahan Way 5:09:42 PM
My friend Nick should be listening, and he famously has the curliest hair in Philly
dan Cochrane 5:10:00 PM
Obstacle, interesting spin there, I like it, a hurtle of sorts.
Readie Righteous (host) 5:10:30 PM
Haha, sorry guys....I'm hearkening back to days of yore...curly hair- very good too, curly or flowing, what's that song again?
Brian D 5:11:00 PM
I have to put on my thin gloves... just shook up a Manhattan in a metal shaker... and now grabbing this tumbler full of ice and lovely browns... cold hands. But worth it!
dan Cochrane 5:11:14 PM
Ah...er, HAIR? Cowsills?
Readie Righteous (host) 5:11:17 PM
Someone mentioned Tonwelle last week I think it was, so I found some... I forget who that was...
Readie Righteous (host) 5:11:53 PM
MMM, Bri, that sounds fabuloso!!
mark 5:12:34 PM
hi readie anyone else experiencing fm signal fuzziness?
Readie Righteous (host) 5:12:51 PM

dan Cochrane 5:12:56 PM
I wish we could post photos here. Someday Readie?
Readie Righteous (host) 5:13:17 PM
I don't know, Dan! That's a Spinitron thing...
Readie Righteous (host) 5:14:09 PM
I heard the FM signal in Philly is fuzzy today, but it could also be Klaus..
dan Cochrane 5:14:14 PM
Their song, Rain the park, flower girl is masterpiece.
Nahan Way 5:15:55 PM
I will need to listen to that one Dan, I'm not familiar
Readie Righteous (host) 5:16:19 PM
Yes, Dan, I like the Cowsills. I first heard "Hair" on the off-Broadway Cast album. I remember the controversy that one of the actors was nude onstage...scandalous
Readie Righteous (host) 5:17:05 PM
Cowsills- the Rain, the Park, and Other Things
Alan Pasnyk 5:17:32 PM
Hi Readie!!! I had long flowing hair last year during the "Dark Winter", it's shorter now but I still have my Slide Rule !!!! :)
dan Cochrane 5:17:53 PM
Also Association Everything that touches you. Phenomenal! Huge influence on REM.
Readie Righteous (host) 5:18:32 PM

Brian D 5:20:00 PM

Alan Pasnyk 5:20:46 PM
I could listen to this all day...
Readie Righteous (host) 5:20:55 PM
thx, Bri...sometimes Philly is a little fuzzy I hear...
dan Cochrane 5:21:32 PM
I really hate to say this. Readie, your set makes weekend programming, especially early, lame by comparison. I only say that as a compliment. Week after week.
Readie Righteous (host) 5:21:44 PM
The whole album (2 tracks) is good...
Alan Pasnyk 5:21:52 PM
@ Readie: Got you on FM as well while takin' my shower here in Philly....
Alan Pasnyk 5:22:44 PM
I put a towel over the receiver so you wouldn't get embarassed...
Brian D 5:23:31 PM
My wife was just saying that you have the best intro music! I agree. She says hearing that Small Faces tune is a reminder that it's Friday as well!
dan Cochrane 5:23:54 PM

Brian D 6:20:24 PM
Dr. Phineas X Qualbotts Unguentincturesalve cured them!
dan Cochrane 6:20:50 PM
When I saw John Fahey he asked someone in the crowd for “ a hunk of metal”. I gave him my Mimi leatherman tool, he played crazy slide with it.
Readie Righteous (host) 6:21:31 PM
That's a great story, @Dan
Brian D 6:21:44 PM
... (what's that... yes I do believe it is 55% alcohol ma'am.... that is the ACTIVATING agent that our team of chemists have chosen for the product yes)
Christine 🦉 6:22:00 PM
@dan, your Leatherman tool was blessed ✨
Brian D 6:22:01 PM
That's great Dan!
dan Cochrane 6:22:30 PM
Sounds like the elixir in Sweeney Todd, “smells like piss”😣
Brian D 6:23:05 PM
I heard Rory Block tell a story about some other blues guitarist recommending that she get a set of Craftsman (t.m.) sockets
dan Cochrane 6:23:11 PM
You said it! I told him to keep it, he wouldn’t.
Brian D 6:24:12 PM
And she played some Robert Johnson with said socket and it sounded great. Philly Folk Fest 1990s
Christine 🦉 6:24:26 PM
@Brian, I'm sure it has an alcohol base. Massachusetts has nicer laws regarding such items.
dan Cochrane 6:24:41 PM
In Chicago it’s common to have a handy “hunk of metal” at all times.
Brian D 6:25:22 PM
F# minor here
Readie Righteous (host) 6:26:18 PM
F# minor has a lot of gravitas
dan Cochrane 6:26:23 PM
Speak8ng of alcohol. Someone once told me all vodka is the same.
Brian D 6:26:45 PM
Great key on the guit. You can always go one whole step lower
Readie Righteous (host) 6:27:18 PM
If it wasn't for the capo, I'd be lost
Brian D 6:27:23 PM
ooooo those strings.... so nice
dan Cochrane 6:27:45 PM
Eugene Chadbourne played a metal rake with a humbucker on it. Gorgeous.
Brian D 6:27:47 PM
My left hand is its own capo ha!
Brian D 6:28:14 PM
EC is a treasure. Camper Van Chadbourne
Readie Righteous (host) 6:28:17 PM
@Bri - I envy you- bar chords drive me insane
Brian D 6:28:57 PM
Readie, you have to find the guitar that is ok for your left hand. And keep practicing and trying. Don't give up on barre chords. They open up the whole world
dan Cochrane 6:29:09 PM
Love the campers. Ice Cream Every Day! Great song.
Christine 🦉 6:29:20 PM
Lovely Hama. 💜 Readie, I know you played this during the unfortunate network/transmitter thing last week.
Brian D 6:29:30 PM
Stopping and trying to find shortcuts will not help in the long run
dan Cochrane 6:30:00 PM
Gotta use my left thumb too.
Readie Righteous (host) 6:30:02 PM
@Brian, thx, man, I hear you - when I first started playing, I got finger-pick immediately,
Brian D 6:30:32 PM
Ahh yes! the right hand is so important too... your drumsticks@!
Readie Righteous (host) 6:30:38 PM
@Christine, yes, it almost glitches all on its own, eh?
Readie Righteous (host) 6:30:54 PM
Yes, @Brian!
Brian D 6:31:18 PM
That keyboard "action" yes... it has its own percussion built in. So cool
Readie Righteous (host) 6:31:32 PM
I wanted everyone to hear this great track unencumbered...
Christine 🦉 6:31:37 PM
I hear what you mean. The playing is stuttery-y and glitchy. So much fun!
Brian D 6:32:04 PM
It is swirling and trance-inducing this track
Readie Righteous (host) 6:32:31 PM
I learned to do that thing on Zep's "Over the Hills & Far Away" opening...so much fun to play
Readie Righteous (host) 6:33:05 PM
You know what I mean, @Bri?
Brian D 6:33:11 PM
Dan, the thumb hook over the guitar yes! Good point. Again with a guitar that has a comfortable neck that thumb usage will open up even more doors
Brian D 6:33:48 PM
That is such a favorite band and tune Readie! Yes!
Readie Righteous (host) 6:33:56 PM
I have a mid 70's Alvarez
Brian D 6:33:57 PM

You (plural) as well! Personally, I'm very excited about the blizzard coming our way -- we're right on the line between an expected 12-18" and 18-24". Our flakes are supposed to start falling closer to midnight, but by early tomorrow morning: BOMBOGENESIS! Hey there, Christine! (-:

Brian D 6:59:17 PM
Alan... the old phone dial tone was an F and A combined I believe
Alan Pasnyk 7:00:03 PM
@ Bri: Wow even the phones..Ha!
Brian D 7:01:25 PM
The school end of class buzzer was tuned to a note that I forget... we were in music class and the final note on a classical piece sounded at same time as the buzzer. Formed a chord. I was all giddy in my seat pointing it out to others. Some got it. Some were not interested oh well
Teresa Peacock 7:01:49 PM
Was that the same two tones, but pulsing, for the busy signal? I can't remember...
Brian D 7:02:33 PM
Maybe Teresa! ooo more searches cool
Addie Plum 🐍 7:03:31 PM
I am so digging this set.
Alan Pasnyk 7:03:40 PM
@ Bri: I worked at a place that had a time beeper go off at 5 PM. As a joke I took my Casio Sampler a made it go off at 4:58, everybody just left.... Ha! Like Robots!!!
Brian D 7:03:59 PM
Other countries used the 2 tones at a flat 5th interval for ambulance or fire sirens. A jarring (read wonderful for many) sound
Readie Righteous (host) 7:05:06 PM
Glad you dig it, @Addie!
Brian D 7:05:17 PM
...ha Alan... reminds me of movies where they used "spy tricks" to dial phones and activate functions on phones using the recordings of the touch tone frequency tones
Roffle... 7:06:45 PM
Train horns are the best with 3 horns making dire chords... :)
Brian D 7:07:19 PM
My parents still had the click click click rotary dial even on their touch tone phones up until sometime in the early 2000s. Sure, you could touch the numbers quickly on the phone keypad but...wait for the clicks to stop until the number actually dialed through...
Readie Righteous (host) 7:07:19 PM
@Roffle, yeah, I dig train horns!
Alan Pasnyk 7:08:32 PM
We had this "old" guy a work that said that when that beeper went off at 5PM Friday he felt 20 years younger!
Li Maria 7:08:56 PM
Ha @Brian D I remember my mom had one of those--so frustrating!
Readie Righteous (host) 7:09:15 PM
@Alan, that's awesome!
Roffle... 7:09:50 PM
I love them too, but I lived next to a RR Xing for a semester and I swear the engineer's ex-wife must have lived in the neighborhood became it was relentless some days!
Alan Pasnyk 7:09:57 PM
Hey Love this Blue Rodeo hits the spot for a Friday For Sure, Yeah!
Readie Righteous (host) 7:10:27 PM

Readie Righteous (host) 7:11:13 PM
HI Li Maria! Back in the day, we didn't have anything to compare it to! LOL
Roffle... 7:11:38 PM
Rotary was extremely tactile
Alan Pasnyk 7:11:43 PM

Li Maria 7:14:43 PM

Readie Righteous (host) 7:15:46 PM

I had a great snow on the head memory... friend next door in college won a hot tub rental delivery in a raffle... but they could not attend. They had finals. So they donated it to us neighbors, said, have at it folks. We accepted. It was winter in State College, PA early 90s. It snowed. A white crown on everyone's head, cold beverages, hot water to soak in.... whatever happened to hot tub rental deliveries? They still do them?
