Ditto! I got my booster last week– was sick for about 24 hours but I'm so glad I have it now

... and I'm marveling at how much good music was released in 2021 that I still haven't heard ... such as Siv Disa's "Whistle." Thank you, 'PRB show hosts for your 2021 wrap ups & retrospectives.

And I have to tell you & the Chat ... I heard the intro to "Lui e lei" by Piero Umiliani and I thought, "Wow! Did this come out in 2021, too? it sounds just like 1960s Euro-pop!" And ... so it is!

Ah! Now here, with "Decoy" by Fievel Is Glauque, I would have said "Late 1960s or early '70s French samba-pop ..." But that delightful track came out in 2021! Guess it shows, certain pop music styles can survive being a fad to become a genre ...

@ Anika (host) I know you're busy with spins and playlists, etc etc ... but ... if you can give a quick answer ... I was checking out "Who Am I" downloads for sale and -- as with many other recent recordings -- there's a gazillion (well, maybe a bunch of) different mixes of it. Not only the regular one, but a Club Version, a Wiener Planquadrat Remix, and a Time To Sleep Remix. My question: I know why fans like a Club Remix (lengthen the track and boost the bass & drums for dancing) ...

... but all the other remixes by other artists --- on so many different song recordings? i'm not saying it's dumb or bad, but I'm not sure why the popularity of remixes en masse ...

My guesses would be for the dj culture/ options to play diff mixes. And maybe more likely but related: to increase sales! But i don't know. Good question. There's Joni sampled.... ha

At least it's not one of those situations where you have an original release, followed by a remix EP, followed again by a re-release of a completely different version of the track under the same name, which would be released only on a widely distributed compilation mix CD lol
