today, i made welsh cookies, which are like mini scones with currants as well as butter cut-outs... this the season

The next Sunday I have off I'm totally getting some currants rolls from the trini place I used to regular at my old job! Got me craving it now lol

i like currants bc they aren't too sweet. i got the recipe for welsh cookies from my mother-in-law whose mother was from wales

we had currants growing at our community garden. They were supposed to attract the birds from the other stuff, but I loved eating them as much as the birds did. I was gently reminded that they were for the birds

Ha, Peppermint Pig--that might have distracted them for a second. (I still sneaked a few) We also had gooseberries, but the currants were much more attractive to me. Someone made gooseberry jam, I think
