I was reading that John Lurie has a new Show where he's painting pictures but in the article he stated he was "no Bob Ross".

I used to tape it off the Independent Film Channel I think. It was also on Bravo back when that was the fancy culture channel. I forget which was first.

Aw shite, I friggin' LOVED that Show but here's the thing, it was all on one DVD, I wasn't even aware it was a series!

I rented it from an independently minded store in Chestnut Hill in about 2008, that place was incredible!

yeah i hope the painting one has a similar absurd/unreal feel to it

i love when he just DIES in one episode (spoiler alert) and then comes back and the narrator is like "i made a mistake! john is still alive!"

Ha! I can't recall that being on the DVD but I can imagine. The new show is called Painting With John, not surprisingly, it's on cable so I won't be watching it.

i think they filmed everything and then did some weird things with the narration to make stories

the narrator just says john and willem dafoe starve to death because they can't catch any fish
